Is Pedology the "Missing Link"?

I have gone over all of my publications tonight and find that perhaps some past Archaeological pronouncements were made outwith the Pedological evidence of their encapsulating soils having been taken into consideration!

Pedology is a fairly modern science which was  not perhaps available/utilised in some past Archaeological claims.

This is indeed unfortunate.

A Nice Coincidence in Time!

Tonight I was trawling the net trying to find associated links with the word "human" in an effort to associate it with "Palaeolithic Scotland".

It was not easy to establish a link but it has opened up a new and exciting avenue of investigation toward finding one!

However my search introduced me to a group called "The Killers" who have a recording called "Are We Human or Are We Dancer's". I found this recording most profound and it is "Spurring me on".

The backdrop of their publication is one of the most ancient Geomorphological areas of our planet and it says it all.

It has also inspired me.

AN EVEN BRIEFER HISTORY OF TIME!

RAW TIMELINE DATA FOR ASSEMBLAGE AND INVESTIGATION.

(ROUGHLY CHRONOLOGICAL)

C. 250,000,000 BP:- DEVONIAN EXTINCTION.

C. 1,800,000 BP:- “Twiggy” arrives  in Olduvai Gorge (species “Homo”)

C. 500,000 BP:- “BOXGROVE MAN” resident in Sussex (species “Homo”)

C.160,000 BP:- NEANDERTHALLS IN EUROPE (GIBRALTAR)

C. 40,000 BP:- HOMO SAPIENS APPEAR (middle of ice age).

C. 30,000 BP:- NEANDERTHALS EXTINCT? ( had been around since C.160,000 BP and  apparently had all the physiological requirements for interbreeding with HOMO SAPIENS!).

C. 12,900 BP – C. 11,700 BP:- YOUNGER DRYAS CATACLYSM (and recovery)!

C. 10,000 BC:- GOBEKLI TEPE.

C. 6,200 BC:- STOREGGA SLIDE.

C. 4,500 BC:- STONE HENGE.
I have spent some time associating above dates with one another as raw data and mile stones. I will now associate our findings from the Moss of Cruden and integrate them with above which will form a pattern and provide perhaps another stepping stone across the tortuous stream of uncertainty!

The Storegga Slide and its Impact on NE SCOTLAND and BOXGROVE!

My visits to The Moss of Cruden and BOXGROVE
allowed me to notice great piles of flint nodules having  been dumped not far from each of those excavated sites.

It is interesting to note that the mounds which I observed at BOXGROVE were exactly the same as those which I observed on the Moss of Cruden!

These "Dumps" were each about the same distance from their respective "excavated " tool areas!

Has anyone out there associated this Geomphorogical and Archaeological  coincidence between the "Moss of  Cruden" ,"BOXGROVE" and no doubt other, now coastal; regions of our Islands.?

If you have please let me know what conclusions you have come to!

PALAEOLITHIC SCOTLAND and GOBEKLI TEPI Synergies!

The synergy between PALAEOLITHIC SCOTLAND and GOBEKLI TEPI findings is the fact that they are both of them unexpected finds!

Although Palaeolithic Scotland might be classed being is a tad older than GOBEKLI TEPI there is no doubt over the significance of the Turkish findings!

If Archaeological and Geomphorogical "Hierarchies?" Could possibly find the time to get a collective act together then we might take a small step forward for mankind here on planet earth.

More information is being garnered from the Moss of Cruden findings but  the phenomenal importance of The RHYNIE CHERT, (please ref Palaeolithic SCOTLAND and elsewhere); is the "Jewel in the crown" and indeed a stepping stone in the gap between important Archaeological and  Geomphorogical "State of their Arts"!

Current Archaeological findings on the Moss of  Cruden had their GEOMORPHOLOGY in place a little, but not much later than the RHYNIE CHERT, as far as cosmological time is concerned.

The Archaeological and Geomphorogical JIGSAW!

At this moment in time no one can put together a jigsaw as suggested by the title of my blog.

All the bits are there but alas we have two opponents trying to construct the same  jigsaw in a jigsaw competition.!

I am finding that where this a doubt as to where a jig saw piece should be placed then GEOMORPHOLOGY should take precedence.
